Quality Care Metrics (www.QCM.ai) is developing a SaaS that integrates item response theory, computer adaptive and affective computing to obtain a profile of the patient. We combine that data with the patient's EHR and population data to create a data lake in the cloud. Advanced data analytics and machine learning algorithms are applied to create a dashboard alerting the physician with areas of concern and clinical decision support. We call it a comprehensive objective psychophysiology assessment and it will transform how patients are assessed and treated for improved outcomes.

Hi Ed,
Sounds really interesting. What's the specific problem you all are tackling? We want the community here at MIx to be able to find you if they are trying to solve a related issue themselves!

Hi Eric,
We will start with assessing chronic pain patients at pain management clinics. There is no objective way to measure pain and this has led to misdiagnosis causing unnecessary treatments, surgical procedures and opioid prescriptions. Our SaaS will provide an objective pain assessment of a patient and provide clinical decision support to the physician. One goal is to help physicians determine if a patient is drug-seeking or is suffering from some other underlying condition. We can also screen for the SPADE pentad: Sleep disorders, Pain, Anxiety, Depression and low Energy (fatigue). We'll then take the product to primary care practices as that is were the patients usually enter the healthcare system. Our plan is also to improve clinic workflow by streamlining patient intake and during the examination with an easy to use comprehensive dashboard. EHR's have been a disaster and we are burning out doctors with death by a thousand clicks. Physicians spend more time in front of a computer screen than the patient. We hope to fix that too.
